Indecent assault reported on bus

A woman SEPTA passenger was the victim of an indecent assault aboard a Northeast Philly bus on Sunday morning.

The 31-year-old victim rode the southbound Route 14 bus from Bucks County into the Northeast via Roosevelt Boulevard. When the bus made a scheduled stop at Comly Road, a man boarded and sat down in an empty seat next to the woman, police said.

The man asked the woman for spare change. As she reached into her purse, the man allegedly fondled her. The victim immediately moved away from the groper, exited the bus and notified police. She described the offender as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, with scruffy blond hair and a beard. He wore a white coat and black skull cap. ••
